Krynica-Zdrój
Krynica-Zdrój, known as "the pearl of Polish spas", is picturesquely situated in the Beskid Sądecki range, in a valley between the three mountains of Krzyżowa (812 m), Parkowa (741 m) and Jasiennik (775 m).
The climate of the resort is very favorable and therapeutic thanks to its high location (at the altitude of 400-600m on average). Krynica-Zdroj is mostly famous for its healing springs. It offers several pump rooms where you can taste various mineral waters for a fee. In 1997, a gondola lift to Jaworzyna Krynicka (1114 m) was opened. It is capable of carrying up to 1200 people each hour. The town is an important winter sports center and a starting point for the tourist routes in Beskid Sądecki. The most renowned cultural event is the Jan Kiepura European Festival of Opera and Operetta.
The biggest political and economic event is the Economic Forum which takes place in early September and gathers numerous leading politicians, business, and economic representatives.
